One of Malaysia's highest Islamic bodies has banned females from dressing or behaving like men and engaging in lesbian sex, saying it was forbidden by the religion.
The National Fatwa Council on October 23 issued its ruling following a two-day meeting that discussed recent cases of young women apparently behaving like men and exhibiting homosexual tendencies, state news agency Bernama reported.
Council chairman Abdul Shukor Husin told Bernama many young women admired the way men dress, behave and socialise, violating human nature and denying their femininity. "It is unacceptable to see women who love the male lifestyle including dressing in the clothes men wear," Abdul Shukor was quoted as saying.
He said that masculine behaviour in women led to having “sex with someone of the same gender, that is woman and woman. "In view of this, the National Fatwa Council which met today have decided and taken the stand that such acts are forbidden and banned," he said.
Male homosexuality, considered against the order of nature, is illegal in Malaysia but lawyers say female homosexuality is technically permissible as there are no provisions for it under the law. The Fatwa Council does not have jurisdiction in civil law, but the ruling appears to be an attempt to push female homosexuality towards illegality.

Yes I respect most religious practices. At the same time I stand my ground that the queer and every other minorities in this world should be given equal rights to life.
Mormons, preachers, practitioners, activists, plain haters- whatever- be as conservative as you wish to be, but leave the others alone. You disagree with their ways, fair enough. But you have no right whatsoever to deny them of their lives. It is not their lives you are living. You have yours to worry about. Is that not enough?
So we want to have sex with the same gender and then some. Why must you intrude? Are we harming you in any way if we're not straight? Are you going to DIE because we're different? Are you, too, involved in our sexual activities anyway? Mind your own business.
You are able to live amongst various races and religions. Why are you not able to live amongst various gender and sexuality?
No government should legislate love and equality.
Stop trying to 'save' and 'convert' the minorities.

And please.. address the issue of your own so called 'religious' people who are drinking, doing drugs, and having sex like rabbits and NO they aren't married.

while the article focused on the malays, i'd like to have my opinion placed on the chinese and other races as well- Caucasians included. and not to mention any religions.

the same fatwa council also tried to rule yoga as 'haram'..takut ppl jadi hindu or sth with all the chanting they do..wtf kan.
